Mahnay Youssef, an international lawyer, affirmed that the recent commentary and questions following U.S. President Donald Trump’s visit to the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia are based on misinterpretations or unjustified reactions. In exclusive statements to Al-Wafd Gate, Youssef emphasized that Saudi Arabia is exercising its legitimate sovereign right to manage its foreign investments in a way that serves its national interests. This in no way contradicts its historic and strategic ties with the Arab Republic of Egypt.

The international lawyer pointed out that Egyptian-Saudi relations are legally framed by a binding agreement issued in 2024 (Agreement No. 607 of 2024) regarding the protection and promotion of mutual investments—an agreement that reflects the deep respect and mutual trust between the two nations.

Youssef added that it is a political and legal mistake to reduce the relationship between two major and influential countries to the signing of a deal or an investment contract anywhere in the world. Egypt and Saudi Arabia are an unshakable pillar, as their bond runs much deeper—something proven by historical events and current realities.

He stressed that the Kingdom has never withheld support from Egypt and has always stood by its side in the most difficult of times. To question this bond is to undermine a shared Arab journey that continues to offer a model for regional cooperation.
Youssef called on every Egyptian to view the situation with objectivity and awareness, steering clear of exaggeration or agitation. He stressed that Saudi Arabia is not just an oil-rich nation, but rather an integrated economic powerhouse progressing according to a clear strategic vision—Vision 2030—which has made it a prime destination for global investments.
